One of my favorite things about an air fryer is the time it takes to cook. Turn your air fryer to 400 degrees F and cook the air fried chicken tenders for 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway until golden brown.
Checking on your chicken fingers every 5 minutes helps eliminate the chances of overcooking your food. If reheating frozen chicken tenders, heat to 375 degrees and allow cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until hot.
You can make this recipe using either Pinko or Italian breadcrumbs for the breading. An air fryer is designed to hold heat, so you can frequently open it and move the food around.
Aim for opening your air fryer about every 5 minutes for 5-10 second intervals to allow just enough time to shake the basket or flip your food. You can open it more frequently toward the end to make sure your food does not overcook.
It can make the chicken cook unevenly and even pull some breading off the tenders. If cooking from frozen, you can stack your chicken fingers a bit more.
But since all air fryers do cook different, it’s important to keep an eye on the breading. If you see the breading getting darker, check the temperature of the chicken, and lower the heat if needed.
Try this homemade buffalo sauce recipe that pairs perfectly with these airfryerchickentenders. You can dip them or even coat them completely to make Hairdryer Buffalo ChickenTenders.

October 12, 2020, October 12, 2020 / Amber Hale Coming from the south, I grew up on fried chicken but since going soy and dairy-free plus limiting my gluten intake, I haven't had much room in my life for fried chicken. But over the last couple of years, the air fryer has made it much easier to enjoy fried-style foods but without the added fat and oil that comes with deep-frying.
I normally get a bag of the frozen chicken breast tenders at Trader Joe’s and thaw out 6-12 and make them in 1-2 batches. You don’t want your chicken to be crowded inside the air fryer so you should space them out that way they get nice and crispy.
Size so it can fit a good amount of food at one time but if your air fryer is smaller than that, you might have to do several batches depending on how much chicken you make at once. Spray the bottom of your air fryer pan with olive or avocado oil and set to the side.
AirFryerChickenTenders are dipped in a deliciously well seasoned pork pinko and almond flour batter, giving these chicken tenders a fabulous taste and perfect, crispy outer coating without the extra carbs that come from bread coating. Wait no longer to make these tasty chicken tenders in the air fryer.
Cooking chicken tenders or chicken tenderloins in the air fryer does not have to be an intimidating task. You start with the chicken tenders, or even take chicken breasts and cut them into smaller pieces.
Note: You will probably want to flip chicken at about 6 minutes or frequently shake the basket to ensure an even cook. Sometimes life is crazy and that extra step of having to defrost something can be a deal breaker.
Different pieces or cuts of chicken will cook for different times in the air fryer. However, for chicken nuggets that are frozen, they can take up to 12 minutes to cook at a temperature of 400 degrees.
When determining how long to cook any type of chicken, a good rule of thumb is to use your knowledge of how long it takes to cook that type of chicken in the oven and then lessen that time by 20% for the air fryer. And reheating something breaded in the air fryer means you get a crispy outside, instead of soggy like it would with the microwave.
Just like with oven baked chicken you want the internal temperature to be 165 degrees. So, if you are cooking a typical boneless 4 ounce chicken breasts in the air fryer, plan on cooking the chicken for about 12 minutes at a temperature of 380 degrees.
It is such a nice change of pace to how you typically eat chicken. Plus, it is healthier than the traditional way of deep-frying chicken.
And lastly, another great thing about this airfryerrecipe is that there are so many sides that would compliment this dish and make it a fantastic, complete meal. The possibilities are endless as to what side would make a good companion to this dish.
Pat chicken dry with paper towel and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. In a wide shallow container, whisk almond flour, pork pinko, and all the seasoning, until combined.
Dip sliced chicken into the egg, then dredge in flour mixture. Spray the air fryer basket generously with avocado spray, and place as many chicken tenders in the basket that will fit with plenty of space in between.
Repeat with remaining chicken tenders until they have all been cooked through to reach an internal temperature of 165ºF. If using boneless, skinless breasts just cut into strips about 1-1/2" by 5".

This Instant Pot Vortex chicken tender recipe is a bit unique from other recipes in that it uses Pinko breadcrumbs and adds Parmesan cheese and a bit of Italian seasoning for flavor so that it does not need dipping. They are white meat and tend to be easy to cook either in an air fryer, oven, or regular fryer.
For my Instant Pot Vortex chicken tenders, I started by coating the tenders with milk. You can also use Buttermilk, which I prefer and really helps keep things moist (see also my Instant Pot Vortex Rotisserie Chicken recipe).
Then, I dipped each tender in flour, followed by egg, and then followed by a mix of Pinko bread crumbs and seasoning. You can use other things in place of Pinko if you like such as crushed cornflakes or regular breadcrumbs.
The key to getting your chicken tenders crispy in the air fryer is to give them a good spray with oil before putting them in. Hold your spray mister or can fairly high so that the pressure does not move the flour coating off of the chicken strips.
I like to place a paper towel under mine when I spray it so that the counter does not get super oily. I like to use Avocado oil, which has a high heat point and I like brands that are pure so that there are no ingredients that can damage cookware.
For cook time, I set the Vortex to 400 and air fried for about 5 minutes before turning the chicken strips over and switching trays. Your cook time is going to vary based on the number of chicken tenders, if you are using two trays, and general thickness of your chicken strips.
So, monitor things and turn the chicken and/or flip around trays as needed. Air fry for 5 minutes, then turn the tenders over and spray them again with oil.
Air fry for another 5 minutes and again flip the tenders and switch trays if necessary. Monitor the chicken strips and turn them and/or switch tray positions as needed.
