It takes about 20 minutes to air fry and serve your chicken dinner. In the air fryer the chicken can get that nice golden crispy skin while staying super juicy on the inside.

And of course, feel free to add a flavorful sauce to the chicken once cooked. The time will vary slightly depending on the size of the chicken thighs and the air fryer you use.

Generously salt thighs then transfer to greased air fryer basket. Air fry at 400ºF for 20 minutes or until chicken reaches 165ºF internal temp.

Perfect as is, or easily adapted for any type of cuisine. Ready in only twenty minutes, airfryerchickenthighs are a staple in my kitchen.

Add a quick salad, veggies, potatoes, or even cook up a box of mac and cheese. But honestly, unless I’ve been in a real meal-prepping mood, I usually need to cook the chicken before proceeding with the recipe.

Whether you’re making airfryerchickenthighs the star of your meal, or including them in a more complicated recipe, you’ll find yourself turning to this easy cooking method often. In a large bowl, coat approximately two pounds of chicken thighs with a bit of olive oil.

Place the thighs in a single layer in your air fryer. You’ll probably have to cook the chicken in batches unless your air fryer is bigger than mine.

Or cut it up and add it to recipes like cauliflower nachos or creamy chicken spaghetti. Add it to a tortilla with the fixings you like for a great chicken taco.

Put it on a bun, with tomato, lettuce, and mayo for a delicious chicken sandwich. The internal temperature of the chicken should be 165 °F and the juices should run clear, not bloody.

Bone -in chicken with skin will take just a little longer than boneless skinless chicken thighs. Another factor that affects cooking time is the size of the thighs.

Barbecue rub : this blend of dark brown sugar, salt, pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground mustard, celery seed, and cayenne pepper adds so much flavor. Just plain seasoned salt would be good or make it as spicy as you like it with pepper.

Leftover chicken, wrapped well, will last up to four days in the fridge or you can freeze it to use later. Toss thighs with oil and then sprinkle and rub with spices.

It's easy and the seasonings stay on the meat. It does need to cook longer then the recipe says, but it could be the size of the thighs that took longer to cook.

I just sprinkle the spices on top of the chicken instead of mixing them in a bowl. I cooked 12 min, flipped and cooked additional 12.

I'm new to the air fryer and made this recipe exactly as written. The flavors were so good and the chicken was so moist with a nice crisp on the outside.

Even my chicken thigh hater enjoyed this recipe. I have a Pampered Chef Hairdryer and the cook time was a little longer, but not by much.

One bite, and you’ll want to bump this to the top of your ever-growing list of ways to cook chicken. I’ve tried cooking chicken in a variety of ways, hoping to find the perfect crunch.

I’ve always enjoyed traditional fried chicken, but a number of years ago I discovered I was sensitive to gluten. That was a real setback for me because fried chicken has always been one of my favorite foods.

Before I brought it home, I moved some things aside in my appliances cabinet. I highly recommend getting the air fryer with the biggest basket you can afford.

I’ll put a link to the one like I have at the bottom of this post. Since you’re not technically frying food in an air fryer, it’s a much healthier and lower-calorie way to cook according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The air fryer is basically a small convection oven with a fan that circulates the hot air around the food. Another thing I appreciate is the fact that food smells don’t linger in the kitchen as long as they would otherwise.

Other ingredients you’ll need are olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. I like to mix my own, so I can control what goes on the chicken, but it really doesn’t matter.

If this is your first time making this recipe, I highly recommend following these directions. For exact measurements of each ingredient and full directions, go to the recipe card at the bottom of the page.

Normally, I like to preheat my air fryer before I start preparing the food. However, this time, I wait because I like to let the chicken sit in the seasoning for a little while.

Secondly, put the chicken thighs in a medium-size bowl and pour the olive oil over it. Either with your hands or with tongs, turn the chicken over and over until it’s all coated with oil.

Next, place the chicken on a plate in a single layer and sprinkle the seasoning on top. Now, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F. It should only take a few minutes to reach the desired temperature.

Once the air fryer lets you know it’s ready (mine beeps), place the chicken in a single layer in the basket. If you’re not sure the chicken is done, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the biggest piece.

Mix the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper in a small bowl Place the chicken thighs in a bowl and add the olive oil. Place the chicken on a plate and sprinkle the seasoning mixture over it.

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F. As soon as the air fryer reaches the desired temperature, place the chicken in the basket, skin side up. I try to provide true and accurate information, but these numbers are estimates.

AirFryerChickenThighs are a game changer for quick weeknight dinners! All it takes is 20 minutes to get impossibly crispy skin and juicy, tender air fried chicken.

Cooking chicken thighs in the air fryer is so easy and PERFECT for busy weeknights. Flip the chicken and fry an additional 6-8 minutes, or until a thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the meat reads 165 degrees.

Now, I take 5 minutes to put these chicken thighs in the air fryer, and they’re done by the time the other ingredients are prepped. I’ve found 375 degrees to deliver the best combination of crispy skin and juicy, tender meat.

I bought an insert for mine in the hopes that I’d be able to stack, but stacking caused the top layer of chicken skins to burn while the chicken underneath wasn’t cooked through. Just remember, air fryers work by circulating hot air around the food, so you need space on all sides of the meat in order for it to crisp properly.

One of the selling points of the air fryer is how little oil you need to get crisp food. I’ve found most recipes benefit from a small amount of oil, but not much.

You can use skinless thighs if you prefer, but you won’t get the crispy skin, which is the best part! My air fryer does not require any preheating, but I always recommend you read your manual for model-specific instructions.

Air fry the chicken for 10 minutes, then flip and fry an additional 6-8 minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted at the thickest part of the meat reads 165 degrees. Always check your own air fryer manual for preheating and frying instructions.

To make this air fryer recipe, you’ll need olive oil, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, pepper, a lemon, and chicken thighs. You can leave out the red pepper flakes if you would prefer to keep the marinade more mild.

Seal the bag and move the chicken around to hey it is well-coated with marinade. To make clean up easier, put a liner or rack in your air fryer basket (depending on the model of your fryer).

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, pepper, and lemon juice. Place the chicken thighs in a gallon size zip-top bag.

If you follow my other chicken thigh recipes (boneless), you may have noticed that I use 165F (74C) to measure the oneness of the dish. Here, however, because I use bone -in thighs for this recipe, the temperature needs to be a bit higher, at 170F (77C), to ensure the chicken is fully cooked without compromising the taste and texture.

These air fryer roasted curry chicken thighs go perfectly with rice or pasta. Line the fryer basket with a grill mat or a sheet of lightly greased aluminum foil.

Put the chicken thighs into the basket skin side down, without stacking, and air fry at 380F (190C) for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken thigh over, now ski side up, and sprinkle some dry seasoning mix over the skin.

So 1 batch would be 1 teaspoon of each ((Italian seasonings, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper) + 2 teaspoons of each (salt, paprika). You can add other things like celery, onion, bay leaves, etc but I like to keep it simple.

Also, you can brine in the morning and cook the chicken at dinner time. The skin gets nice and crispy and helps add fat to the chicken.

If you are having to make multiple batches, loosely tent the cooked chicken on a plate with aluminum foil. You can also pop them back in the air fryer for 2 minutes just to heat them up real quick while the second batch is resting.

If you are cooking a lot of chicken ahead of time for meal prep, my favorite way to reheat this chicken is on a baking sheet, uncovered, in the oven or toaster oven. If you’ve made this or any other recipe on my site, let me know in the comment section how it turned out.
