Hairdryer Beef Jerky This post may contain affiliate links. The prep time is minimal, but it does take a bit of organization as you want to marinate the sliced beef overnight.

Because the cook time is very long and low then you can use a cheaper (tougher) cut of meat than if you were wanting to quick roast it. I have also had good results using thin minute steak (Golden style beef).

The marinade I use combines the rich smoky flavor of Worcestershire sauce, honey for sweetness, and soy sauce and onion powder for a flavor punch! To air fry the jerky, you will need to set your air fryer to 175 °F (80 °C), and cook it for around 2-3 hours.

It is difficult to know exactly how long it will take to cook as it is dependent on a few things including exactly how thick the beef was cut. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 3 hours.

Air fry beef strips until completely dehydrated. Set to air fry at 175 °F (80 °C) for two hours, then check the jerky.

If it is not completely dried out continue to air fry for 15-20 minute intervals until it is ready. When the jerky is ready, allow cooling and store in an airtight container.

The longer you marinate and tenderize the meat, the more flavor the beef will have. Add the sliced steak to a bowl and drizzle it with soy sauce, brown sweetener, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.

Remove the beef and dry completely with paper towels. Choose if you want to thread the meat along bamboo skewers or if you will simply place the meet in the air fryer basket.

If you thread the beef using bamboo skewers and hang the skewers in the air fryer, this will increase the ventilation and allow the air fryer to circulate air more evenly and thus will cook faster. If you want really chewy jerky, you will have to use a longer cook time.

I recommend the Color Hairdryer Toaster Oven, it has the dehydrating function. It dehydrates really well, but I have found that it takes a little longer than the air frying method here.

You can store it in sealable bags or airtight containers at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. You can defrost at room temperature, or eat it straight from the freezer.
