This air fryer chicken leg recipe can be accomplished in under 30 minutes from start to finish.

They pop out of that air fryer hot and ready with no desire to be coated in anything except for the marinade they are placed in quickly beforehand. Without the breading, these chicken legs carry a much lower calorie, carb, and fat count.

This recipe is also a lot easier and quicker because we don’t have to worry about breading. Because we are using an air fryer for this recipe, we don’t need to use large quantities of oil to drown our chicken in to.

You will also need to cook the chicken legs in the air fryer for a longer amount of time. The larger they are and the more frozen that they still are, the closer to an extra 10 minutes of air fryer time will be needed.

And please remember, the additional minutes added on to the frying time should be divided in half…. Half added to the original 13 minutes of air frying, flip your drumsticks, and the additional half added to the second 13 minutes of cook time.

You can store leftover cooked chicken legs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. I highly recommend cutting the meat off of the bone before storing it in the fridge.

It makes reheating and snacking on the delicious meat that much easier! I would also highly recommend waiting to store the leftover meat until it cools down to room temperature.

The seasoning, the timing, the temperature, everything comes together and makes a meal that is so unbelievably good! I love making recipes that use everyday ingredients which you probably already have in your pantry.

For this recipe we use brown sugar, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion and garlic powder, ground mustard and a pinch of cayenne. We mix all the ingredients together in a large zip top bag, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil and 6 chicken legs.

If you don’t have a quick read kitchen thermometer, I highly recommend one. We don’t have to broil or grill, just let the air fryer and the ingredients from this recipe do all the work.

Then use the air fry” setting at 380 degrees (F) for 18-20 minutes, turning the chicken legs halfway through the cooking time. But always take a look and use that quick read thermometer to make sure it’s an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees (F).

Tender and delicious chicken legs cooked to perfection in an air fryer. Add all dry ingredients to a large zip top bag and shake to mix well.

This is one of my favorite chicken drumstick recipes to make because they are so easy to cook but super delicious and require only 3 ingredients! Prep : Open your package of chicken legs and put them in a bowl.

Arrange them in a single layer on your rack or basket in the air fryer. Juices should run clear, and they should register 165 degrees when using an instant read thermometer.

(I call it beef seasoning but use it on all kinds of meat, poultry and veggies too.) Sometimes I get extra large chicken legs and one might be enough for me but I also have a teenage boy that can eat a lot.

It can't hurt to cook a few extra because the leftovers are always good served either hot or cold. Spread the drumsticks out in a single layer on the racks in your air fryer.

It also cuts down on cooking time when compared to conventional or fan oven. I own a Pro breeze XL 5.5 liter air fryer which is perfect for a family of 4-5 cooking.

Other good brands out there include Phillips, Color, Power XL, and more. The chicken leg quarters are well seasoned and tasty right through to the bone.

Leave to completely cool before putting in a Ziploc bag or airtight container then store in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. I find the cooking spray just adequate and don’t use parchment paper.

If you’re cooking food that doesn’t have a breading on it, you will want to pat it dry before putting it into the air fryer. You don’t want to use too high of a temperature when cooking in your air fryer because you may just dry out your food.

You want to get a digital thermometer that is easy to read, especially for cooking meat in the air fryer. You want to check the internal temperature of your chicken, steak, and pork before eating.

Any crumbs left behind will burn the next time you cook and can ruin your food. In a small bowl, mix together the honey, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, soy sauce, seasoning salt, garlic powder, and lemon juice.

Preheat your air fryer while you’re getting the chicken ready to cook. Cook until golden brown; when your meat thermometer registers 165° Fahrenheit, then it’s done.

I prefer the Pam Pump Olive Oil Cooking Spray when I’m spraying cooking oil directly onto food. Remember : Cooking times may vary, depending on the air fryer that you own/use.

If you prefer “fall off the bone” kind of chicken legs, add a few extra minutes to get your chicken to 180-190F/ 82-88C internal temperature using a fast read thermometer. Bigger, thicker drumsticks may take longer. Hairdryer Drumsticks are easily adaptable so you can create your favorite recipe.

Make sure the chicken legs have enough room in the basket for air to circulate to “fry” them. Check your specific Hairdryer model manual on how much you can fill the basket.

I recommend trying out 26 minutes and checking the internal temperature of your chicken and add time if necessary. Cooking fresh or frozen chicken legs makes meal prep even faster.

An Hairdryer works by just circulating the hot air around with a spritz of oil on the food to “fry” it. Dark meat tends to get a bad reputation with people thinking it’s unhealthy because of all the saturated fat.

It’s important not to allow any foil to touch the heating element of the air fryer, which is usually located at the top. Adding food on top of the tin foil will prevent it from flying around inside the air fryer as it’s cooking.
