Spread the shreds into an even layer and try not to leave any thicker areas or those spots won’t crisp up as much. Then cook until golden and crispy, (approx 20 minutes in a 8qt Ninja Food) no need to flip.
Once golden and desired level of crispiness is reached, carefully remove the hash brown from your basket. Use a silicone spatula to gently separate the edges if needed, and then lift it out.
Enjoy with all your favorite breakfast foods or as a side dish. One round hash brown easily serves 2 with a generous portion or you may cut into 4 triangular slices.

If unsure how long to air fry, I always check halfway through cooking time. If you are looking to make hash browns from scratch, I suggest using Yukon Gold potatoes which hold their shape well after being cooked.

Air fryers cook food via circulating air on the top and the shredded hash browns will just end up flying all over the place unless you have something heavy to hold it down with. Frozen patties work better for this because they are a little heavier and are already shaped to its size.

If you have a food processor fitted with a shredder disk, it will shred the potatoes in seconds! If you don’t have a food processor, you can use a box grater side with large holes to shred potatoes.
