Use only plastic or nylon cleaning pads and non-abrasive cleansers such as CORNINGWARE Cleaner & Conditioner. To loosen cooked-on food, soak cookware in warm soapy water.

If stacking is not possible due to limited space, nest the cookware by placing a cloth between each piece. Use pot holders when handling hot VISIONS cookware in the microwave oven.

Do not heat empty VISIONS cookware in the microwave oven. Place hot VISIONS cookware on a place mat as retained heat could damage bench surfaces.

For use as an attractive serving dish, two handles, one on each side, make it simple to transport the pot from the oven right to the table. In addition, the cookware reduces the number of pots used by offering the option to refrigerate or freeze leftovers in the same dish they were cooked or to reheat without transferring contents to another pot.

Not only do they look beautiful but also are healthy as I think the material they are made of won't leach into the food. Just treat them carefully because obviously they can break if they receive a sting impact.

Report October 8, 2020I've used these two vision glassware products 5 times since I received them 2 Weeks ago. I love the handles and tops that go with them, and they are the perfect size for my cooking and serving needs.

I'm learning to develop patience and cook over lower heat. I love how the food tastes coming out of these, compared to stainless steel pots.

Report July 19, 2020I started looking at this cookware set and thought it was attractive and could be very functional. Being able to see the water as it begins to boil or watch your food as it cooks is really quite a pleasure.

I was encouraged by my eldest sister that it's an excellent cookware set. I was looking for something that would not leach (like stainless steel...) and did not have a 'painted on' coating (like enamel or non-stick products...).

Glass cookware requires special care and has some limitations (like you can't deep-fry in it) that folks need to be aware of. I'm totally fine with the special care and limitations, personally.

When was this product manufactured: I've read they have heavy metals if more than 10 years old! By hurtsyJanuary 14, 20180 We're committed to providing low prices every day, on everything.

So if you find a current lower price from an online retailer on an identical, in-stock product, tell us, and we'll match it. Visions is a brand of transparent stove top cookware created by Corning France and introduced to Europe during the late 1970s.

Visions is made of Calcium, a transparent material belonging to the Program family of glass -ceramics. It is one of the few cookware lines than can be used on the range (gas and electric), in the oven (conventional, convection, and microwave), and under a broiler.

It will withstand heat up to 850 °C (1,560 °F) with thermal traits similar to Corning Ware plus improved resistance to staining and the detrimental effects of acids and detergents. In 1953 S. Donald Stroke of the Corning Research and Development Division discovered Program, an opaque-white glass -ceramic material with a high thermal shock resistance.

While Program would quickly go on to be used for a variety of products, including Corning Ware cookware, the transparent version (later to be known as Calcium) was heavily studied over the next two decades. In 1963 George Ball, working under Stroke, explored a method for making transparent cookware.

In 1977, Andre Andrew and Serge Renault working for Corning France, patented the claim that would form the basis for amber-tinted, transparent Vision cookware. Corning Le CLAIR (VISION) 2.5L Stooping 1981, Corning Glass Works began test marketing the cookware in the United States as an imported product under the name “Le CLAIR” rather than VISION due to a trademark conflict over the name.

Due to increased demand, Corning opened additional production lines in the US and Brazil. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Corning released additional Visions products lines including limited “Sculptured” versions for high-end dept stores, non-stick versions featuring a Silverstone coating, and additional colors.

Visions has remained popular overseas, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region where custom product lines have been created specifically for that market. Visions was temporarily unavailable in the United States from 2004 until 2006 but has otherwise been produced non-stop for nearly 40 years and is currently sold worldwide by Corell Brands, LLC.

Visions cookware is made of a transparent, beta-quartz material called Calcium, belonging to the Program family of glass -ceramics. This material and a method of making it was first referenced in a patent filed by S. Donald Stroke, of the Corning Research and Development Division, in 1958.

It was described as being a semi-crystalline ceramic having unique and useful properties such as coefficient of thermal expansion so low as to be negative in character, a true porosity of zero, and the unusual characteristic of being transparent despite a substantial crystal content (often greater than 75% by volume). In a further patent, filed in 1976, Kenneth Chung described it as an ideal material for cookware and kitchen materials and “unquestionably better” in the areas of infra-red transmittance, stain resistance, and chemical durability than two existing Pyroceramic glasses used for Corning Ware and “The Counter That Cooks”.

Thanks to Calcium's extremely high thermal shock resistance, food can be stored in the freezer in a piece of Visions and immediately taken to the stove top or oven for cooking. Since the material is completely non-porous, it will never harbor food odors or leach chemicals into meals.

Additionally, it is completely dishwasher safe and is not prone to haze or etching typically experienced with normal glass kitchenware. When initially released in Europe, and during the Le CLAIR test marketing period in the US, many Visions products shipped with a “flat-top” lid that was also made of Calcium.

These products are made of opaque Program ceramic- glass, like vintage pieces of Corning Ware, and can be used in the similar ways as Visions cookware. Pyrex, a brand name for break-resistant glass bakeware, has offered complementary amber (Fireside) and Cranberry tinted lines to match Visions colorways in the past.

Care must be made to distinguish between Visions and bakeware marketed under the Pyrex brand name, as the thermal properties of each product are quite different. Calcium, the transparent version of Program used to make Visions, is also used in other products such as ceramic- glass top stoves and fireplace doors.

Visions ® cookware is made of a see-through glass ceramic material that withstands temperature extremes. It can be used for cooking, serving, refrigerating, freezing, reheating, and thawing.

VISIONS ® cookware works best on top of the range with foods which are stirred, sautéed, or have liquid as a cooking medium. The glass covers can be used on Visions ® cookware for range top applications, in a preheated oven, in the microwave, refrigerator or freezer.

Hot Pyrex® brand glass covers can break if cooled suddenly. The plastic covers, available only for limited sizes, can be used in the microwave or for storage.

Do not use or repair broken, chipped, or deeply scratched cookware. Chips, cracks or deep scratches weaken cookware and covers.

Follow care and storage instructions to avoid chips, cracks, and scratches due to improper nesting, hitting rims, using metal utensils, and accidental impact. Corell Brands promises to replace any Visions ® cookware that breaks from hot or cold temperatures within ten years of purchase.

In addition, Corell Brands promises to replace any glass cover accompanying Visions ® cookware that breaks from heat within two years from date of purchase. Accidental breakage from impact is not covered by warranty, nor is scratching, discoloring, or other deterioration of the nonstick surface.
